Studio Designer/Artist

Description

Small Army has an immediate need for a Studio Production Designer. The Studio Production Designer will work collaboratively with our creative department, and begrudgingly with the account executives, to build out print and digital pieces for our clients. Must possess knowledge of design principles, including color, shape and balance, and layout.

This position includes, but is not limited to: creation of print mechanicals, designing print and digital components that are part of a campaign/brand, searching and purchasing stock photography, crafting a never ending supply of banner ads, helping out with creative executions, hashing out of ideas, preparing presentation materials, attending meetings and feigning interest while you doodle, an over-clocked imagination and expertise in time management. Candidate should have an excellent eye for detail, quality control, spelling and grammar.

What You Need

  • 2-4 Years Production Experience
  • Print/digital layout
  • Mechanical file prep
  • Pre-Press
  • Participation in company events ie; kickball, bowling, holiday parties, etc.


Requirements

  • High proficiency and efficiency using Adobe Creative Suite:


Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign/Acrobat

  • High-level understanding of design, layout, typography and idea/concept communication
  • Print Production Experience
  • High creative drive with the ability to self-motivate 
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
  • Attention to detail and follow-through
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to anticipate problems and react appropriately


Bonus points for:

  • Functional knowledge of basic HTML and CSS

We are looking for interns who want to gain experience in the world of advertising by working with the team at Small Army.  Along with basic administrative tasks, working side-by-side with the Account Management team on client projects will provide invaluable insight into the many layers of a successful agency. 

What You Need

Candidates must possess a can-do attitude and be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.  A strong understanding of social media tools (Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, YouTube, WordPress/Tumblr) is necessary for the intern position.  These positions are perfect for college students or recent graduates interested in exploring the world of advertising.  Please note, this is an unpaid internship.
